Job Description
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) to join our team, operating during both day and night shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across various locations nationwide, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for commercial driving and delivering exceptional service.
Duties
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry to ensure safety and compliance with legal requirements
Safely operate flatbed lorries for the transportation of goods across designated routes in a timely manner
Load and unload cargo, ensuring securement of items during transit
Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
Follow all health and safety regulations, including adherence to driving hours legislation
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered during transit
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained, and report any mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with minimum two year experience in commercial driving
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
Experience with loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
Ability to work flexible hours, including both day and night shifts as required
A clean driving record with no recent endorsements or penalties related to road safety or driving violations

Minimum Requirements:
Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
Current CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
Commercial driving: 2 years (required)
